Private Lessons

for competition
and
performances.
Students must be
registered and
taking general
classes at LDAA
to receive
private lessons
from our
instructors and
guest teachers.
All dance solos
and set private
lesson series
must be approved
by the director.
General tuition
and other fees
must be up to
date before
scheduling
private lessons.
(Refer to our
private lesson
policy for
further
details.)
Tuition and fees
Each student
pays an annual
$25
registration fee,
a $25
recital fee,
and a $20
yearbook fee.
All of these
fees are
non-refundable.
A $50
costume deposit
(one costume per
class) is
required to be
paid by October
1, with any
balance due by
December 1. (A
monthly $10 late
fee will apply
after December
31.) All
students are
required to have
an appropriate
costume for each
class. Deposits
are
non-refundable
once costumes
have been
ordered; costume
balances remain
a dancer’s
responsibility
should they
elect not to
participate in
the recital
after the
participation
deadline. (Many
classes can not
accept students
late in the
dance year
because costumes
can not be
ordered,
produced, and
delivered in
time for
recital.)
The
yearbook fee
allows each
student to
receive a
souvenir recital
yearbook
program.
Individual poses
can be ordered
at an additional
charge through
the studio’s
photographer;
these are great
souvenirs. To
keep a
consistent style
throughout our
program, we
encourage
parents to use
yearbook photo
poses for their
“sentiment” ads.
A sentiment ad
not only
celebrates a
dancer’s year of
achievement, it
allows others to
share their good
wishes.
Tuition
is due on or
before the fifth
of each month.
LDAA accepts
cash, checks and
credit cards. A
$10 late fee is
added to any
accounts not
paid by the
fifth of the
month. To avoid
payment delays,
we ask parents
and students to
provide credit
card information
upon
registration. A
courtesy call is
made to our
primary contact
number each time
a credit card is
used for
payment.
If students need
to
withdraw from
classes,
they are asked
to notify the
school director
prior to
withdrawal.
Withdrawal is by
mutual consent;
the date of
notification
(not the date of
absence) is
considered the
departure date.
There can be no
refunds,
credits, or
transfers to
another month.
Once classes
have begun,
tuition is
non-refundable.
Tuition fees are
not pro-rated.
If a student
attends one or
more classes in
a month, the
full month’s
tuition is due.
The school can
not provide
refunds or
reductions for
missed classes.
If a student
misses a class,
he or she can
make up the
class within 30
days.
Please refer to
seasonal session
listings for
specific class
costs.

most students
choose to
perform.
Typically, the
recital is held
at the end of
May in the
Wheelwright
Auditorium of
Coastal Carolina
University in
Conway, SC.
(Adult, Loft and
Pay-per-class
classes do not
perform in the
recital.)
A comprehensive
souvenir recital
yearbook program
is produced to
commemorate each
recital. Friends
and families can
reserve
advertisements
to recognize the
accomplishments
of their special
dancer.
Student
commitment
A year of dance
classes runs
parallel with
the school year.
Students are
encouraged to
begin in the
fall and
continue for
nine months,
however
registration is
accepted
throughout the
year for most
classes.
Students
participating in
a Royal Academy
of Dance (RAD)
curriculum
should be
enrolled by
October 1 to be
fully prepared
for the March
RAD exam.
Classes
performing in
the annual
recital may be
closed to new
students once
recital costumes
are ordered.
