Litchfield Ballet Foundation

The Litchfield Ballet Foundation (LBF) is a non-profit organization established to support the Litchfield Dance Company (LDC)—a performing arts ensemble founded on classical ballet while also representing other dance styles.

The LDC budget reflects the production, administrative, and public relations expenses as well as salaries, general operating costs, and professional and legal fees for the LBF to:

• Produce an annual dance season.

• Participate in dance competitions.

• Provide outreach educational programs (lecture, demonstration, and informative performances to schools, clubs, libraries, nursing homes, etc.) in the community as arts ambassadors.

• Organize touring opportunities that allow dance company members to perform at events/festivals and learn from other artists.

• Plan the possibility of producing a dance festival with other similar dance companies to share performances and establish residencies at LDAA for performance and educational purposes.

• Provide master guest teachers and choreographers to expand and further educate our company members and our community and providing exceptional dance education.

• Establish scholarship awards* for dance based on financial need, skill, talent, and interest.

The Litchfield Ballet Foundation is managed by President Tom Fox with oversight from a community-based Board of Directors. Other board officers are Vice President John Clarke and Artistic Director Ilka Doubek.

* Scholarship recipients are serious dance students aspiring to become professional dancers who will reside in the region and participate in LDC activities. Scholarship funds also will be granted for tuition and related dance education costs as well as travel, lodging, enrollment, and other expenses related to dance student trips and events.
